Sustainability & Green Building

Our environmental commitment extends well beyond our walls to the communities we call home and the customers we support. Carrier is the only company in the world to be a founding member of the U.S., Argentina, China, India, France, Kuwait and Singapore Green Building Councils. In fact, Carrier was founding company number one of the U.S. Green Building Council® (USGBC®) in 1993.

Carrier is committed to reducing the greenhouse gas impact of our products through energy efficiency advancements and the refrigerants we use. Since 1994, we have led the industry in the phase-out of ozone-depleting refrigerants while introducing many of the world’s most energy-efficient heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. At the same time, we’ve reduced the environmental impact of our operations.

We actively share our expertise to promote environmental stewardship. We were the first company to license the USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED®) curriculum to train our employees and customers in sustainable building solutions and are proud to have been named a USGBC Education Partner. Carrier University’s Institute for Sustainability has trained thousands of industry professionals throughout the United States, Middle East, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
